Throughout his 17-year career, Dave Sewell has held various roles across multiple industries. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Civil & Environmental Engineering, he began his career as a manager of track maintenance with Union Pacific Railroad and moved on to become a structural engineer at Shoemaker & Haaland in Iowa City, IA primarily focused on the design of heavy industrial facilities. After obtaining his MBA from the University of Minnesota, the past 10 years were focused on a variety of roles for 3M including strategic planner, portfolio manager and global new product development manager for the Automotive, Aerospace and Commercial Transportation markets. His strengths lie in understanding complex technical products, services and markets and building strong businesses around them. Outside of work, Dave lives in Lake Elmo with his wife, Kristen, and their four-year-old son, Ryan. He spends his free time playing golf, hockey, curling, waterskiing, traveling or remodeling their house. Dave looks forward to working with the great team at GSL and getting to know all of the customers, suppliers and partners in the months and years ahead.
